I at least have around 40 to 50 film cameras and instant cameras at the moment. My favorites includes the Canon AE-1 Program, the Semflex Standard 4.5, the Lomo LC-A+, the Polaroid Impulse AF and the Polaroid Automatic 330 Land Camera. The Canon AE-1 Program follows me everywhere and it never failed to give me the results I expect/want.
I love the challenge, the mechanisms, the beauty of those objects, and the fact that the results are unpredictable. And I really love the special grain of film photography, and the particular atmosphere on an image taken using an instant camera.
I grew up in a family with both my father and grandfather doing film photography and I always saw a lot of old cameras and black & white prints at home. I had my first film compact camera at 10 years old. Later on I switched to digital photography, and after a few years I started to felt stagnant. Seeing a number of photographers on Flickr using films inspired me to try it again and fell in love with it all over again.
Talent or creativity does not come directly from the tools you're using because it's something that can only come from you. Take pictures everyday, it's the best way to improve your skills.
